Margaret Lockwood, Agatha Christie, Peter Saunders, new play
Jan. 01, 1954 - Margaret Lockwood to appear in Agatha Christie's new play: Agatha Christie, the archaeologist's wife who has made a fortune out of murder-on-paper for more than 30 years, will complete a theatrical hat-trick in the autumn with a play specially written for Miss Margaret Lockwood. The play Spider's Web, a comedy-thriller in which Miss Lockwood plays a diplomat's wife involved in a country house murder mystery. Apart from two seasons in Peter Pan it will be Miss Lockwood's first London Stage appearance since she played in Family Affairs at the Ambassadors Theatre 20 years ago. She was then 18. The other two current Christie plays are taking bookings so far ahead they are certain to be running when Spiders Web reaches the West End.
