May 05, 1980 - Irish P.M. at Downing Street: The first extended meeting between Charles Haughey, Prime Minister of the Irish Republic and Mrs Thatcher took place in Downing street this morning. The two leaders made contact at the EEC summit earlier this month and it was agreed that it was time for a formal meeting to consider the future of Ireland.
