Mrs. Margaret Thatcher, who was successful in winning the Tory leadership yesterday now hopes to emulate Golda Meir of Israel, Mrs. Indira Gandhi of India, and Mrs. Bandaranaika of Sri Lanka, who have all led their countries. Margaret Thatcher was a grocer's daughter, won a scholarship to Oxford, where she won degrees in Chemistry and Law and entered parliament as M.P. for Finchley in 1949.
