Nov. 11, 1977 - Dame Margot Fonteyn Leads Protest At Russian Embassy For Nureyev's Family To Visit The West. One of the World's former Ballerinas, Dame Margot Fonteyn, Wayne Sleep and others took part in a protest by Britain's leading ballet dancers to the Russian Embassy in London in a bid to get Rudolf Nureyev's family permission to visit the West. It is the latest move in the long campaign by Nureyev to be reunited with his mother, sister and niece.
