Margot Hamilton with soldier husband Leslie in Edinburgh
Feb. 26 A Guiana Bride gets to know the Scottish Capital: Her first Introduction to life in Britain. By now the 25 women from Georgetown, brought home as wives of members of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlands, have dispersed to their various homes with their husbands on leave. Edinburgh has gained Margot Hamilton, wife of L/Corporal Leslie Hamilton, and her proud husband lost no time - after first greetings at home in showing her the famous view, wonderful Princes Street, the Palace of Holyrood, and in preparing her for a colder winter than she has before experienced. So far, Margot feels very welcome, and already quite at home. Scotland gets a ss from British Guiana. Walking over the drawbridge of the castle, Margot listens as her Argyll's husband proudly explains a few things about Scottish history and traditions
