Maria Callas, opera singer, Covent Garden, London

1967 - Opera Star Maria Callas Goes To Covent Garden - But As A Member Of The Audience: Opera star Maria Callas returned to Covent Garden last night - but as a member of the audience. After giving evidence in a High Court case in which she and her friend, Aristotle Onassis, the shipowner, are suing Mr. Panaghis Vergottis over a 1200, 000 shipping deal, she went to see the new production of La Traviata -an opera she has often sung - though not in London. She sat in a seat as a guest of Sir David Webster, general administrator of the Opera House. Photo Shows: Maria Callas with Sir David Webster arriving at Covent Garden Opera House last night
