Mark Lester, Oliver actor, asking for more in film
Nov. 11, 1967 - Nine Year Old Mark Lester is Oliver'. The name of the boy who is starring in the 2 1/2 million film production of Lionel Bart's hit musical Oliver has been revealed. He is nine year old Mark Lester, of East Sheen, Surrey. Producer John Woolf, of Romulus Films, picked Mark from over 2, 000 schoolboys who applied for the part. He has been before the cameras at Shepperton since filming began in the summer, together with other boys who play the inmates of the orphanage in the story, adapted from the Dickens novel Oliver Twist'.
