Oct. 10, 1958 - St. Clement Danes Church of the Royal Air Force Ready for Re_Dedication Ceremony.: The newly restored Church of St. Clement Danes, in the Strand- the Church of the Royal Air Force- is now almost ready for the re-dedication service to be held on the presence of H.M. The Queen on Oct. 19th. The restoration cost about 250, 000. The original church- a Wren masterpiece, was ruined by enemy action on the night of May 10th. 1941.Photo shows Mr. Martindale Sidwell, F.R.C.O. Organist and Choir Master of Hampstead Parish Church- seated at the Church Organ- which was subscribed for the Third United States Air Force- and which bears the insciption- This organ is the gift if members of the United States Air Force their families and friends 1956'. The U.S.A.F. gave a gift of 30, 000 to cover the cost of the organ and of its own Shrine of Remembrance
