Dec. 12, 1973 - Mary Mccarthy In Stockholm: The American novelist Mary Mccarthy is in Stockholm to make publicity for her book Memories of a catholic girl which has recently been translated into Swedish and edited here. It was published in the U.S. 16 years ago. Recently she has been observed for her articles in the observer about the watergate scandal. Her opinion is that nixon should retire and that Eugene Mccarthy is elected new prresident in the States. She hopes that the nobel price winner in literature next year will be andre malraux, and not graham greene who she describes as an awful writer. The critics have said about Mary Mccarthy that she is a snob and a notorious Mrs. know-all. There is a lot of truth in those comments, she says, it is a naive characteristic i have Photo shows.
