Maurice Ravel, French composer

Dec. 28, 1977 - 40th Anniversary of death of Maurice Ravel; For the 40th time; on December 28th, 1977 is the anniversary of death of Maurice Ravel (our picture), the famous French Composer. Ravel, born in Ciboure on March 7th, 1875, is beside Debussy one of the leading representatives of impressionistic music; he was a typical French musician, good at form, ingenious, ironical and of sensitive sound sensation. He wrote operas L'heure espagnole, 1911, L'enfant et les sortileges, 1925, piano concerti, orchestral works Rhapsodie espagnole, La valse, Bolero, ballet, chamber and choral music. Maurice Ravel died in Paris on December 28th, 1937
