MAX HORNGACHER FROM STARNBERG, UPPER BAVARIA MAKES HARPS FOR OPERA HOUSES ALL OVER THE WORLD. The harps, which are built by 49 year old MAX HORNGACHER from Starnberg, Upper Bavaria are very popular with their purchasers all over the world. Not only private musicians but also the harp players of the big orchestras of the world appreciate the delicate instruments he makes. Sweet harp tones from the Horngacher-instruments can be heard at Bayreuth, at the opera of Tokyo, La Scala Milan as well as the Metropolitan Opera of New York. Max Horngacher-our picture shows him at work in his studio-works about half a year on the making of a harp (price: DM 25, 000), which is 182 cm high, 95 cm long and 52 cm wide. It consists of 2400 single parts and weighs 38 kgs
