May 05, 1953 - Coronation Road Gets Ready for the Coronation. The Mayor and the Youngsters of Coronation Road, Plaistow, in London's East End, chosen by a Company of Decoration Manufacturers for special decoration in preparation for the Coronation. The Mayor of West Ham - Alderman A.C. Moorey - and the Coronation Committee of the road, this morning received the decorations from the donor, Mr Leon Goodman, to bring a spot of West End Glamour to the East End.
