Memorial service at St Nicholas Church, Dunkeswell, Devon
Feb. 26 Britain Honours US War Dead. A service in memory of the members of the United States Navy Fleet Air Wing Seven who died during World War II was held at St Nicholas Church, Dunkeswell, East Devon, and attended by members of the United States Navy and of the Royal Air Force. A plaque inside the church records the names of some 200 American airmen who were killed on active service while serving at the neighbouring wartime American Naval Air Force base.
