Oct. 10, 1956 - The memory of Ferdinand Lesseps the constructor of the Suez Channel has to be removed from the Egyptians mind, was decided recently by the Egyptian government, and the monument, which marked the Suez Channel; was removed too. Instead it there was erected a monument of an unknown channel worker. Photo shows the Lesseps-monument near Port Siad
