Dec. 12, 1956 - Tribute Paid To Jean Mermoz A ceremony before the monument erected at Neuilly (in the outskirts of Paris) in memory of Jean Mermoz, the famous French pilot, was held this morning. The occasion was the 20th anniversary of the disappearance of the South Cross during a flight from South America. Mermoz was one of the pioneers of Airmail service between France and South America.
