Dec. 12, 1957 - Public House named after Sherlock Holmes: A press preview was held today at the SherlockHolmes - the first public house to named after the world's most famous detective of fiction, Sherlock Holmes. Formely the Northumberland Arms, this house has now been restored, renamed and furnished with items from the collection which formed part of the Festival of Britain Exhibition in 1951 and was sent to New York the following year. The living room at 221B Baker Street has been faithfully recon structed in a alcove leading to the new dining room on the first floor.
