Feb. 25 Dutch Authorities cleaning-up action Amsterdam infested by hippies.: Ever since the Dutch authorities decided to clean - up Dam place in Amsterdam taken over by hundreds of hippies of all nations - each night there are quarrels between them and the police, each time tens of arrests are made. Slowly there is a back home movement developing, visible reducing the numbers of hippies camping there, leaving only extremists behind whom the police can deal with much easier because of their smaller numbers.
