Mar. 03, 1968 - Recorded guided tours at the National Gallery.: On Thursday, 21st march, 1968, the first two of what is hoped will be a series of individual tape recorded commentaries of various parts of the National Gallery Collection will be made available to the public. The tours cover Gothic and Early Renaissance recorded by Mr. Martin Davies, the Director and French Impressionists recorded by Mr. Cecil Gould, the Deputy Keeper. Each tour lasts approximately an hour. Listeners are free to switch off their individually carried machine to suit themselves. The hiring fee for the tours, which have been produced fro the National Gallery by Soundguide, will be 2s. 6d. or 3s. 6d. if a dual headphone is required. The tour of the French Impressionists will be available in English and French version to follow in the near future. plans are in hand for other tours, the first of which will probably be for British pictures.
