Feb. 01, 1973 - Town Buried In Volcanic Ash The buildings in the town of Heimaey at the Icelandic Volcano island Veatmanna are now nearly buried in Pumice and Ash from the active Volcano-House after House collapse under the weight of the Ash. Photo Shows:- A car can be seen buried under the Ash which has just reached the roof of the house
