May 05, 1972 - Munich Is Being Decorated For the Olympic Games: After 28 years the Quadriga has been placed again on its original place, the Siegestor in Munich. Munich Triumphal Arch Restored: The bronze quadriga badly damaged during WWII has been put back on top of the arch after an abscence of 28 years.The original carriage with four lions and the Bavaria statue was created in 1850 by Ferdinand von Miller, bronze, 5.20 meters high, weighs 2150 kilos
