Menuhin, Gendron, Dankworth, Scott, at Bath Festival

Jun. 06, 1963 - Musical Experiment At Bath; During the Bath Festival a musical experiment was carried out when nine musicians both jazz and classical got together to present their interpretation of a folk melody. The leading performers were classical violinist Yehudi Menuhin and jazzman Johnny Dankworth both at the top of their respective fields. Their aim was to produce a new musical language in which any professional musicians can say something - a kind of musical Esperanto. Photo shows Four of the musicians at Bath (Left to Right) Yehudi Menuhin Violin, Maurice Gendron Cello, Johnny Dankworth Clarinet, and John Scott Flute
