Metal address plates found near former Gestapo HQ, Kiel
Jun. 06, 1959 - Bomb-Searchers found Gestapo file: Munition-searchers in Kiel (Germany) made an unusual discovery. While searching for possible stray bombs, they found a zinc box (about 1 meter below the ground) containing several thousands iron plates for addressing machines. Next to the place, Masxths were the Gestapo Headquarters in the past. The address plates were probably buried there shortly before the end of the second world war. The Ministry of the Interior in Kiel is presently examining whether amongst the numerous names of firms, organisations and private persons, some can be found who were Gestapo Agents
