Metal address plates found near former Gestapo HQ, Kiel
June 16, 1959 - Kiel, GERMANY - Munition-searchers in Kiel, Germany, made an unusual discovery. While searching for possible stray bombs, they found a zinc box (about 1 meter below the ground) containing several thousand iron plates for addressing machines. Next to the place where the Gestapo Headquarters used to be. The address plates were probably buried there shortly before the end of World War II. The Ministry of the Interior in Kiel is presently examining, whether amongst the numerous names of firms, organisations and private persons, some can be found who were Gestapo Agents
