Nov. 11, 1973 - Mrs. Allende Speaks At The United Press International Conference In Mexico In her emotional appeal Mrs. Allende said: I ask you, delegates, distinguished journalists and publishers from throughout the world not to close your eyes to the universal and fraternal clamor for solidarity and defense of my fatherland. I do not ask you to help to reinstate the liberties in Chile, that is the task for Chileans, I only ask you to help end the unfair and cruel punishment that mu countrymen are suffering. I ask you to demand from the North American imperialist corporations to which many of you belong that they order their local servants to terminate once and for all the reprisal against workers, peasants and the people of my fatherland. OPS: H. Danny Davis - UPI Bureau Chief, Mexico
