Oct. 10, 1980 - Michel Rocard to Stand in the French Presidential Election: Michel Rocard is to stand as a Socialist candidate in next year's presidential election in France against President Giscard D'Estaing. A poll showed 56 per cent of those asked felt it was right for him to put in his claim before Mitterrand the Socialist Party's first national secretary.
