Jan. 31, 1952 - Fort Monmouth, NJ Soldiers set up the Army's new mobile weather radar that can track storms as far as 400 miles away and trace the movements of clouds resulting from nuclear bursts. It is the first weather radar on wheels, and can he put into operation on less than one hour. The system was developed by the US Army Sig Research and Development Laboratory
