Jan. 01, 1951 - New Insignia army's armor brace This is an artist's drawing of the insignia which will be adopted by the armor branch of the U.s. Army. Under provisions of the army organization act of 1960. The cavalry branch was replaced by the armature branch. the new design is composed of a airport view of them -26 tank (original version o the Patton tank) with gun slightly raised and superimposed on two crossed cavalry sabres in scabbards with cutting edge up. the insignia is gold coloured. the enlisted man's differs from that of an officer's in that it is smaller and is mounted-on a one inch disk. since it will be some time before the new insignia is available, personnel are authorized to use those presently prescribed. released Washington, d.c
