1957 - United States Major meets his son - Probably for the last time.: Major Gerhater of the United States forces flew 6, 000 miles to Britain to try to get the court of Appeal to change a magistrate's order - granting custody of his eight year old son Craig - to his mother Mrs. Daisy Gershater of Royston Park, Hatch end, Middlesex.The court refused to make the change - so the Major had to be content with only a day with his young son. Photo shows Major Ben Gershater waits with open arms as his son comes running to him for start of their day together
