He has been appointed as the officer with full responsibility in the Adminalty for nuclear propulsion - with the title f Rear Admiral nuclear propulsion - and also Deputy Engineer-In-Chief (Nuclear Propuslsion). The appointment gives him general direction of the work of the naval section of the Atomic Energy Research Establishment at Harwell
