Nov. 11, 1957 - A model of the US Army's new Republic SD-3 surveillance drone revealing details of external configuration. The drone uses advanced surveillance sensory devices Interchangeable nose units enable rapid switch from one surveillance sensory device method to another, an all-weather system the surveillance drone is zero-length launched, using JATO (Jet assisted take-off) and is recoverable. It is being produced by Republic Aviation Corporation, Guided Missiles division, for the US Army Signal Corps Republic's missile division also has a contract for development of a more advanced surveillance drone
