Jan. 15, 1958 - Leaving its Launcher, the Navy's latest acoustic-homing torpedo, the Mk 32, starts it relentless and unearing search for its target. Through its homing capabilities the torpedo is able to track down and sink any type submarine. A new acoustic-homing torpedo, the MK 32, has been developed by the U.S. Navy. Capable of tracking down and sinking submarines, the MK 32 is now in use with surface units of the fleet. In addition to its homing capabilities, its ease of launching makes it a readily adaptable weapon, the Mk 32 does not have to be fired form a torpedo tube but is merely tossed over the sode of ship from an open launcher. Once in the water, its homing characteristics guide it unpingly to its target
