Aug. 08, 1955 - Black American airman shoots himself on Kent beach after killing three and injuring six with sten gun. American airman Napoleon Green turned his gun on himself after having been wounded on Broadstairs. Kent, beach today. He had run amok with a sten gun at the nearby USAF base at Marston - and shot nine people - killing three. The beach shooting followed a mile long chase by British police and American airmen along the sands packed with holidaymakers.
