Apr. 18 An American released after three days by Soviets: On the 16th of December last American Army Sgt. William T. Rice was kidnapped by Soviets and Vopos (people police) at Zonal border Berlin-Buckow. He was engaged there with some German workers marking the border. During his time being in the Soviet Zone he was treated well and was also asked if he wishes to ask for the asylum. After his refusal he was handed over to the American authorities in Berlin after being three days in Soviet Zone of Germany. Photo shows Sgt. Rice after being released from Soviet Zone
