May 05, 1960 - Russians release American aircraft crew and passengers: The crew and passengers of the United States Air Force C-47 Transport forced down by Russian fighters over East Germany five days previously were released by the Soviet and arrived in Wiesbaden, Germany. The machine had been forced down when on a flight from Copenhagen to Hamburg the Russians claiming that it had flown 22 miles inside East Germany.
