Aug. 09, 1961 - Rocket unit of the US-Army at manouevre at the River Rhine: A rocket unit of the US army had the task to cross the River Rhine near Germersheim by special strategic condition on Wednesday morning. A unit of the German Bundeswehr assisted the US-unit by 4 ferry boats and 2 assault boats. So the complete rocket unit crossed the river. Photo shows it had been the first time that a rocket to type of Herkules crossed the river Rhine by ship
