Nov. 11, 1960 - The Germans Get Their Panzer Tank Back: A German Panzer tank captured in the Western Desert from Rommel's Affrika was handed back to the Germans at a ceremony at Bovington camp in Dorset today. It was received by the German Ambassador in London, Herr Hans Von Herwarth, for the New German Army. The presentation was made by by the Chairman of the Trustees of the Tank Museum at Bovington, General Sir Richard McCreery.a former Western Desert Commander.
