May 05, 1965 - U.S. Troops hand out water in Santa Domingo. Troops of the 82nd. Airborne Division military forces in an all-out effort to distribute food and medical supplies to civilians in rebellion Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic. As of May 4, 295 U.S. Air Force transport aircraft from the military air transport service and Tactical Air Command, had flown more than 870 missions in support of assistance to the Republic. A navy Task Force has also played a similar Rollin evacuating Americans and Foreign Nationals and also transporting muc needed medicine and other supplies. Photo Shows A member of the 82nd.
