Aug. 08, 1963 - The First Woman Member Of The Ten Ton Club': Yesterday on the 27th anniversary of her first solo flight, Mrs. Diana Barnato became the first woman member of the R.A.F.'s Ten Ton Club by flying a Lighting aircraft at over 1000 m.p.h. Mrs. Walker is Corps Pilot to the Women's Junior Air Corps. During the war she was a Ferry Pilot. Mrs. Walker obtained Special permission for the flight from the Air Minister Mr. Hugh Fraser.
