Jul. 07, 1979 - New Commander in Chief of NATO in Europe; will be from July 1st 1979 General Beranard W. Rogers. He is the successor of General Haig, which will resign after more than 4 years. Bernard W. Rogers is born at July 16th 1921 in Fairview in Kansas/USA. He studied at the Kansas State College, later at Military Academy West Point (1940/43), theh he was at Oxford/England (1947/50) and on the US Army War College (1959/60. The four star general (since November 1974), he was in the years 1960-62 in West Germany, won last chief of staff of the US Army
