Model of dais for Prince of Wales investiture

Mar. 03, 1969 - Press conference on investiture of the Prince of Wales.: Mr. Robert Mellish, Minister of Republic Building and Works, today outlined at a press conference, the work his Ministry is doing to prepare Carenarvon Castle for the Investiture of H. RE. H. The Prince of Wales on 1st, July. The conference was held in the workshops of the Ministry's Supplies Division at Dudley House, Endell St, where some of the items designed for the Investiture were on display. Photo shows 19-year old Yvonne Park, seen at the press conference today holding a model of the Royal dais for the investiture, showing the three thrones on the plinth for the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince of Wales. Focal point of the ceremony, the dais has a large circular plinth in Welsh slate and a unique upward curve canopy in clear perspex supported on a steel frame and four splayed poles
