Feb. 29 1, 000 VIEW READY-TO-WEARS About 1, 000 fashion buyers, store executives and fashion writers from 34 countries attended the showing of British ready-to-wears which opened with a display of autumn and winter styles in the Thamesside Mermaid Theatre, London. With them was the Duchess of Kent, aunt of Queen Elizabeth and one of the world's best dressed women, who buys off-the-peg clothes as well as the designs of the top couturiers. Here are four styles seen by the 1, 000. Left: Two short evening dresses. Geranium coloured Bry-Nylon over net and taffeta on the left. By Linzi, the dress has a fitted bodice and pumpkin sleeves.
