Mona Chong, Bond Girl, at Swiss Centre flag ceremony, London
Dec. 12, 1969 - 007 flies over Leicester Square.: His Excellency Monsieur Rene Keller, the Swiss Ambassador, today raised the 007 flag over the Swiss centre in Coventry Street, assisted by two beautiful Bond girls and six henchmen of Bond's arch-enemy Blofeld. The reason for this unusual Entente cordiale is that the latest film featuring Ian Fleming's fabulous agent, On Her Majesty's Secret Service was shot in the Swiss Alps and Michael Reed's cameras have captured some of the country's most beautiful scenery. The Bond girls, two of twelve international lovelies featured in the film are Mona Chong, from Bangkok, and Joanna Lumley, from England. Peter Hunt, director of the film was there to receive the Ambassador. The 007 flag, measuring 15ft by 15ft. will fly over the Swiss Centre for six weeks, during which time the film, produced by Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli and directed by Peter Hunt, will have its world premiere and aid of the Newspaper Press Fund, on December 18th at the Odeon Theatre, Leicester Square.
