Jan. 24, 1953 - Ten killed thirty six injured in Argentine Grand Prix Car Crash; Ten spectators were killed and 36 were injured when the car driven by Italian Nino Farina got out of control and crashed into a crowd of spectators who had climbed the barrier and got nearer the track to obtain a better view, during the international Grand Prix in Buenos Aires, Argentine. The Police were unable to stop the crown climbing the barrier causing them to get too near to the track at the dangerous band. The race was won by Italian Albert Ascari in a Ferrari.
