May 30, 1957 - Stirling Moss to attempt a world speed record; An M.G. car has been specially built for British racing driver, Stirling Moss in an attempt to beat the world land speed record for 1, 500 c, c, cars at Salt Flats, Utah, USA in August. The present record for class of this class is 204.2 mph. which was set up in 1939 also in an MC. Photo Shows Stirling Moss, seen in the car which is tailor made yesterday. Holding the measure is Mr. Sidrey Enever, Chief Engineer and designer, and behind him is rm. John Thornley, (Director and General Manager o the MC Car CC)
