Dec. 12, 1962 - Donald Campnbell's new £1, 500, 000 Bluebird: On show to the public today outside of Australia House is racing car driver Donald Campbell's new £1, 500, 000 Bluebird in which he is to make an attempt on the world lend speed record. The attempt is to be made in Australia during the Spring of next year and if it is to succeed the new car will need to do in excess of 396 moles per hour which was the record set up by John Cobb several years ago and which remains unbroken.
