Jun. 01, 1967 - Chelsea Shop Girl To Race For Volkswagen.: 24-year old Jenny Nadin, who this morning signed a contract with Volkswagen that will make her the first-ever woman contracted to race works supported single-seater racing cars - was pactising this afternoon. on the Brands Hatch Circuit. The offer of a contract follows a private testing session last week when she lapped the Silverstone circuit at an average speed of 74. m.p.h. This was her first time in the car and the first time on a racing circuit. During the coming months she will race a 100 m.p.h. Formula Vee car in ten National Championship events at circuits all over the country. Her first race in the Championship will be at Silverstone on June 18th. Jenny, a Yorkshire-born blonde, works in the King's Road, Chelsea branch of Jaeger Ltd. She has previously competed in rallies driving Imps and Ford Cortinas and for one season was co-driver to Pat Moss.
