Sep. 09, 1970 - Jochen Rindt Is Killed While Practicing At Monza For Tomorrows Italian Grand Prix: Jochen Rindt the 28 year old Austrian racing driver who was leading in this year World Championships was killed this afternoon while practicing for tomorrows Italian Grand Prix. If he had won this race he would have been the World Champion. He leaves a wife Nina and a young daughter Natasha. He was driving a Lotus 72.
