Mar. 03, 1970 - Art Arfons Speeds at 300 M.P.H.: Driving his Green Monster at Hurn Airport, Bournemouth Yesterday, American driver Art Arfons, three-times holder of the world land speed record, yesterday reached a speed of nearly 300 m.p.h. Arfons says his Green Monster will do 700 m.p.h. He hopes to take there cord back from another American Craig Breedlove, in the United States this year. The record stands at 613 m.p.h.
