Jun. 06, 1970 - MOTOR RACING ACE BRUCE MCLAREN KILLED: Bruce McLaren, the motor racing ace was killed today while testing a racing car at high speed on the Goodwood racecourse, in Sussex. New Zealander, McLaren, who was 32, was found to be dead on arrival at Chichester Hospital. Police said the engine of the car exploded. As the car hit a bank, it disintegrated.
