1969 - Off To Desert Cruise Sand Yachting: 24 Competitors From France, Algeria, England, Germany, Sweden And Belgium Are Taking Part In A Desert Cruise Which Will Take Them From Laghouat (Algeria) To El Golea On The Other Side Of The Sahara Desert. The Vehicle They Use Is A Two-Wheel Cart Equipped With A Windsail. There Are 12 Carts In All Manned By Relay Teams. Photo shows The Start Of The Race At Laghouat
